چکیده
Abstract Introduction For thousands of years male circumcision (MC) has been performed for cultural, religious, aesthetic, and public health reasons, it continues to be among the most common surgical procedure worldwide. The effects MC on sexual function remains controversial, despite recent systematic reviews demonstrating no adverse effects. A key area debate regarding impact penile sensation. Existing literature evaluating changes in sensitivity pleasure following have primarily focused penis glans frenulum-area shaft. Additionally, studies describing orgasm ease reaching orgasm/ejaculatory latency. In truth, although patients rely providers counsel them about what results they might expect occur with MC, erogenous sensation other orgasm-related domains are still not well understood. Objective We sought expand existing by assessing throughout entire surface area, evaluate differences reported circumcised uncircumcised men. Methods Adult subjects recruited from a paid anonymous online survey platform (QualtricsTM, USA) were shown anatomic illustrations whose was divided into 12 different regions. Subjects instructed identify regions found pleasurable when touched during sex, rate each 1-10 scale. also asked characterize their typical across six domains: 1. Lead-time, 2. Orgasm duration, 3. Perceived body-location(s) orgasm-sensation, 4. Classification experience as single or multiple-peak event, 5. Refractory period 6. Overall satisfaction. Comparisons between men 2-tailed T-test. Benjamini-Hochberg Procedure FDR=0.05 applied control multiple comparisons. Results completed 227 (mean age ± SD, 46.6 17.7y) 175 (47.8 18.1y). There significant ratings all twelve cohorts. However, which gave significantly more (vs. uncircumcised) preference penis-tip (38% vs 17%, p=0.024) middle third ventral shaft (63% 48%, p=0.036). quality queried Conclusions Our findings suggest that both experiences similarly. Although we often think tip being “most erogenous” location men, scored erogeneity generally similar length penis. overall did differ, areas “pleasurable sex”, compared counterparts. These will important share families considering MC. Disclosure No

Sensation and sexual arousal in circumcised and uncircumcised men.
INTRODUCTION Research, theory, and popular belief all suggest that penile sensation is greater in the uncircumcised as compared with the circumcised man. However, research involving direct measurement of penile sensation has been undertaken only in sexually functional and dysfunctional groups, and as a correlate of sexual behavior. There are no reports of penile sensation in sexually aroused su...
متن کاملRisk of HIV-1 in rural Kenya: a comparison of circumcised and uncircumcised men.
BACKGROUND Most studies that have found an association between uncircumcised status and infection with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) have compared participants from various demographic backgrounds, among which the prevalence of other risk factors might have varied. We report findings from a study conducted among men within a single ethnic community in which circumcision was dictat...
متن کاملErectile function in circumcised and uncircumcised men in Lusaka, Zambia: A cross-sectional study
BACKGROUND Evidence from three randomised control trials in South Africa, Uganda and Kenya showing that male circumcision can reduce heterosexual transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection from infected females to their male partners by up to 60% has led to an increase in circumcisions in most African countries. This has created anxieties around possible deleterious effects of...
متن کاملSexual Risk Behaviours and Willingness to Be Circumcised among Uncircumcised Adult Men in Uganda
BACKGROUND There has been substantial demand for safe male circumcision (SMC) in Uganda in the early programme scale-up phase. Research indicates that early adopters of new interventions often differ from later adopters in relation to a range of behaviours. However, there is limited knowledge about the risk profile of men who were willing to be circumcised at the time of launching the SMC progr...

UNLABELLED WHAT'S KNOWN ON THE SUBJECT? AND WHAT DOES THE STUDY ADD?: The sensitivity of the foreskin and its importance in erogenous sensitivity is widely debated and controversial. This is part of the actual public debate on circumcision for non-medical reason. Today some studies on the effect of circumcision on sexual function are available. However they vary widely in outcome. The present s...
